Eleven Years

If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me why I’m not married yet, I’d be a pretty rich gal. I always respond with your typical answers that go something along the lines of, “Oh, I just haven’t found the right one”, but the truth is I’m not married because I’m SO very good at running away from men. It’s hard to let someone in to see your heart when you feel like it’s with someone else.

Get Over Yourself

When I was young, I was painfully, painfully shy. You wouldn’t know it by looking at me today, but there was a time in my life I couldn’t even bring myself to talk to people I liked. I always worried about being weird…being rejected…not being liked. It went on this way for many years and eventually evolved into one big pity party. I  used to think how unfair it was that others could make friends so easily, that they could talk to others without a care in the world. That being vulnerable didn’t send them running in 5 different directions.

Exploring Bali

Kelsey and I were lucky enough to get to experience Bali a few weeks ago. Her friend, Cameron, who lives in Europe, LOVES surfing and goes to Bali at least once a year to hit the waves. One day, he told Kels he was going to Bali in a month and asked if she’d like to meet him there. So, we booked tickets, packed our bags and were heading to the airport only 4 short weeks later.

“Tote’s” Amazing

My sister, Kelsey, owns Red Leaf Leather where she creates beautiful, quality leather products such as wallets, passport holders, phone cases, etc. She just launched these amazing bags and so we took to the streets to get some shots for her website.

The small bag is perfect if you don’t love over sized bags and holds all your daily necessities. The large tote is my favorite as I am a HUGE fan of over sized bags and it is great for everything from a purse to diaper bag to laptop carrier. It is large and has room for everything you’d ever need. Mary Poppins would be proud! The quality of leather is impeccable as is the quality of the whole creation.

Zombie 5k

Two of my best friends are the Sommer sisters, Bethany and Sierra. My own sister, Kelsey, and I have been friends with them for over 20 years. For all intents and purposes, I think of them as my own sisters and therefore I refer to their mom as “Momma Lisa” because she is my mother from another sista! 😉

Every Halloween, Momma Lisa is in charge of Centerville city’s Zombie Run 5k and it is such a fun event.

My Adventure in Italy

Italy has won the title of my most favorite place on earth. It is incredible + truly leaves me at a loss of words. How could I do such a stunning countryside justice with my solely my fingers and this keyboard?

My Photo Creations

I love the creative process and building things from nothing. It’s always been a dream of mine to create something big one day, something I was involved with from the very stage the idea was conceived. Something that would create a job I am passionate about and that keeps me waking up every morning with excitement and joy. A job that enables me to live a balanced life.

Running Away to California

There are few things in life that rejuvenate my soul quite like California.  The radiant sunshine, salty air and the sound of crashing waves awaken something in me that I just can’t quite put into words. I CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF IT and I plan a California getaway at least once a year.  This year, however, because of my adventure to Italy in September I decided to be responsible and not spend money on California as well, but my soul had others plans – it rebelled against such a notion and planned a spontaneous trip all on its own. 😉 It went a little something like this:

My Mountains

For as long as I can remember, I have had a fascination with “my” mountains. My childhood home sits on 6 acres of land located only 3 miles west of the Wasatch Mountains – they are practically my back yard.  The view is incredible and it does my heart good to sit outside and watch as the sun sets and casts a purple glow over the mountain range.
